About us
Free PDF tools, built so your files stay with you.
PDFCommunity is an independent project from Belgium. No uploads, no account, no subscription.
Why PDFCommunity exists
It started with a simple question: why should you send a document to an unknown server just to merge two PDFs? That is exactly what happens on many PDF sites. Your file travels to their computer, gets processed there and comes back. You have to trust that it is really deleted afterwards.
It doesn't have to work that way. A modern browser is powerful enough to do the work itself. That is why every PDFCommunity tool runs entirely on your own device: merging, compressing, converting to Word or PowerPoint, splitting, adding a watermark and more.
Want to know exactly how that works, and what does and doesn't go over the internet? Read How PDFCommunity works.
How we keep it free
PDFCommunity stays free. In the long run the site is paid for by ads, not by a subscription or a paywall. Three rules always apply: never an ad next to or over your file while you work, personalised ads only with your explicit consent (the cookie banner will ask for it separately), and your files play no part: we don't see them. There is no free trial and no hidden daily limit, because we don't process anything ourselves and so have nothing to slow down.
The tools are available in eight languages. Once you have opened the site online, most of them keep working without internet; a watermark with special characters or non-Latin letters, and some PDFs with Asian text do need an extra file that is only downloaded the first time it's needed.
Everything happens in your browser, and you can check that yourself.
Use the tools as often as you like.
In the long run ads pay for the site, never next to your file. No subscription.
