Free PDF tools, built for the whole community.
PDFCommunity brings together the everyday PDF tools people actually need — merging, compressing, converting — and keeps them free for everyone. Every file is still processed right in your own browser, so nothing is ever uploaded, stored, or seen by anyone but you.

How it works
Choose your files
Drag them into the tool or click to browse. Nothing is sent anywhere at this point.
Processing happens locally
Your browser does the work itself, using the same technology found in PDF readers. No waiting in a server queue.
Download instantly
The result is ready on your own device. Close this tab, and nothing is kept, anywhere.
Why this is different from most PDF sites
No upload, so no waiting
Other tools send your file to a server and back. Here, processing starts the moment you choose the file.
Your documents stay yours
There's no server that ever sees your PDF. That's not a promise we have to keep — it's how the tool technically works.
No account, no daily limit
Because we don't process anything ourselves, we also can't impose an artificial limit to push you toward a paid plan.
Honest about the limits
Compression turns pages into images — that shrinks the file, but the text is no longer searchable afterward. We'd rather tell you that upfront than have you discover it later.
Frequently asked questions
Do you see my files?
No. There's no upload, so there's nothing to see. All processing happens with JavaScript in your own browser, on your own device.
Why is my text no longer selectable after compressing?
Compression works by turning each page into a lighter image. That shrinks the file significantly, but the text itself no longer exists as text afterward. If you want a searchable document with smaller images, use the "Light" setting and check whether the result works for your purpose.
Is there a file size limit?
No artificial limit on our end. The practical limit depends on your own device's memory — on a regular laptop or phone, documents with hundreds of pages work without a problem.
Do I have to pay if I use this a lot?
No. The site runs on ads, not subscriptions. Use the tools as often as you like.
Does this work on my phone too?
Yes, the tool works in any modern browser. With very large files on an older device, memory can be the limiting factor.
Important to know
Conversion to Word or PowerPoint happens automatically. With complex layouts (tables, multiple columns), the order of text may differ from the original — always check the result yourself before using it for an exam, official document, or any other purpose where accuracy matters. This site is provided without warranty; use is at your own risk. Full terms of use.

What this site does
PDFCommunity provides free tools to merge, compress, and convert PDF files to Word or PowerPoint. All processing happens locally in your own browser — there is no server that receives or stores your files.
No guarantee of a perfect conversion
Conversion to Word or PowerPoint happens automatically based on the structure of your PDF. With complex layouts (tables, multiple columns, special formatting), the order or positioning of text may differ from the original. Always check the result yourself before using it for an exam, an official document, a publication, or any other purpose where accuracy matters.
No liability
This site and its tools are provided "as is", without any warranty. To the extent permitted by law, PDFCommunity is not liable for:
- Errors, inaccuracies, or data loss arising from use of the tools;
- Damages, direct or indirect, arising from the use or inability to use this site;
- Decisions you make based on a converted or edited file without checking it yourself.
You use these tools at your own risk and remain responsible for checking and keeping your own files.
Your own files and rights
You are responsible for the files you process with these tools, and for respecting any copyrights or other rights attached to them. PDFCommunity does not collect or view your files — see the privacy policy below.

Privacy policy

What we don't collect
The PDF tools on this site (merging, compressing, converting to Word or PowerPoint) process your files entirely in your own browser. There is no server that receives, stores, or ever sees your files. Your documents never leave your device.
What we do collect
We deliberately keep this list short:
- Analytics: at launch, this site uses no analytics or tracking of any kind — we don't know how many people visit, or who you are. If that ever changes (for example, to see which tools are actually used), we will only add a privacy-friendly, cookie-free tool such as Plausible, and this section will be updated first.
- Ads: once this site shows ads via Google AdSense, Google may place cookies to personalize ads. You can give or refuse consent for this via the cookie banner. More info: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can manage your ad settings at adssettings.google.com.
Cookies
Once this site uses cookies (for ads or analytics), we'll explain that here in concrete terms, along with a choice via the cookie banner on your first visit.
Changes
We may update this policy, for example when we add a new feature or service. The date at the top of this section shows when that last happened.
